Dedicated Follower of Fashion.

I hinted at it a little while ago - I've been working on an exciting personal and self-divised project.
I've wanted to try and make an animation for a while now. After attending these two conferences in, respectively, November and December last year, I became especially keen to give it a go.
The final 'kick' to start it was when listening to The Kinks's Dedicated Follower of Fashion - I suddenly decided this had to be the song I animated.

Over the next month I will be posting regular updates from the process.

Here's the first installment: The very initial development of characters.

Mid century patterns.

A while ago (when I was working on my Body of Work, to be exact) I made a lot of drawings based on items from the mid 20th Century. From these I then made patterns.
The first that appears here is based on Arne Jacobsen's Swan Chair while the second is based on a mid century Australian kitchen that I found within Carter's Mid 20th Century book by Dorothy and William Hall.

Flower and skulls.

These are some drawings, as the title suggests, of a flower and some skulls, the latter being inspired by Mexico's Day of the Dead.

Swirl.

When on holidays a couple of years ago I spent hours creating this spiral image.
